Hey all! So today I wanted to take another route and do something a tad more fun! Pomp-ular! We Can't Forget about the Men!

Guys! This hair trend is so big for you all right now, the "faded pomp look"  Its classy, and very clean edged! Literally I think most everyone can wear a good barber fade, the pompadour comes in when the hair isn't too thick to part over like this picture above.  I know what your thinking, a comb over? NO! This is a new age cross over between styles from the past and fellas it is a hot cut to have right now!

Hey All! So I was scrolling through my Tumblr this morning and ran across two Fashion Blogs that you really should check out! Everything from their fashion, photography down to their layout design on their blogs are so well thought out! Check these women out!

http://www.trendycurvy.com - Trendy Curvy I love her Fashion style.  This blog is geared towards plus size fashion but really what is plus size anymore anything over a size 8? Well I'd say thats about average is for most women to be seen as plus size these days.  Beyond that, her fashion is so cute and she lets you know exactly where you can get the same items! Most of all I love that she's not spending crazy amounts of money; the everyday girl can afford these pieces of clothing.

Her Blog is clean, easy to navigate through and just the right amount of information.

http://ravingsbyrae.com - Ravings by Rae, she has great style as well! I found her on Tumblr also just scrolling through reflagging things.  Her site is a tad more busy, but still very informative.  She also lets you know where you can find each item in her outfits, the only downfall is they aren't linked for easy access like the above blog, but still very cute and trendy! Once again her site is geared more towards plus size fashion but most of her fashion she cites can be found in multiple sizes, so if you like her outfits you can recreate it for yourself in your size!

Although I would not suggest things like #13 and #32 to do on your own (Leave it to your stylists!) I would say that there are some awesome tricks in this article!

Some of my favorites are;

#8- Heating your eyelash curler- Although I don't stick mine in my bra, I do however heat my eyelash curler up with my blowdryer (be careful it WILL BE HOT!) and I curl my lashes the same way holding it down counting to 10 seconds on my lashes 3x.  Doing this with heat will help your lashes stay curled throughout the day and make your eyes seem brighter, bigger, and more awake.  Just Picture is as your making it a mini curling iron for your lashes! Works perfect!

#22- Check your makeup when you get into your car.  Just by habit i do this every time I leave the house anyways, but it can make a huge difference in the way your makeup looks! The natural sun light will show you mistakes or unblended lines that your house lighting won't normally show.

#41- Cut open your foundation tubes to get the most out of your makeup.  This could be a budget saver all together whether you use something super expensive to a drugstore product its still going to save you money.  You will get the stuff that would have been on the sides of the bottle and get a little more wear before replacing.

Texture Teaser

This is one of my favorite new products! Kenra-Dry Texture spray.  Ladies, you know all of those beach wave photos where the girls hair just looks voluminous, sun kissed, and just has so much texture and wave?  Well THIS is the stuff that can help you achieve that look!

You just need to spray a medium amount (depending on how much hair you have thin or thick/ more for thick, less for thin hair)  run it through your hair and curl! It adds volume and just the right amount of texture.  This is not a dry shampoo but will give your hair life!

Lets talk Make-up Brushes!

I went to Las Vegas two years ago to the trade show for cosmetologists and estheticians.  It is a huge ordeal and literally I cannot wait to go back! The deals there are awesome! This company- Morphe Brushes- was featured at the show and I can see why! This girls review on the make-up and brushes from Morphe will definitely give you a great idea on how the products are!

This video above is a short haul/review of their brushes and a view eyeshadow colors.  Literally you can see the quality through the screen! I bought a few of their brushes on day two of the conference trade show and I love them! I can't wait to haul items from their website especially now that I know they offer makeup as well! (they didn't have their eyeshadows at the show! Sad day!) But regardless the cost and quality is a hard on to beat, especially for someone in my industry or someone who just loves make up and having options!

Voluminous Summer Side Braid!

One of my Very favorite looks of the summer is the "side braid" its super cute and great for that hot summer heat while still being able to look fashionable!  This is a video from one of my also very very favorite beauty bloggers Nicole Guerriero! She is so pretty and always coming up with cute ideas and great "hauls" and has a ton of reviews on new products! She is definitely one to watch.

Check out her version of the Voluminous side braid, she uses her clip in hair and some texturizing products to create this effortless romantic braid! I would say it is a must try for every girl this summer, and the best thing about it is that you can transition and wear this into every season.

Pretty Pout

I have always been a fan of lipstick, and just recently started wearing it more.  I think that it can add or change your look entirely by just that pop of color.  These are a more "pinks to reds" version of swatches, mostly NYX brand.  Because in liking lipsticks, I also like a good deal with good quality.  So I will take you one by one through them and kind of give you my thoughts;

1. (Top left) is Revlons Pink Pout-I really love this, it almst doesn't photograph as well as it looks.  It is a nude-ish pink toned lipstick, not heavy at all and its one you can build the color up.  So you could wear it more subtle in the day time and make it a bit more vibrant later on.

2. (Top Right) is NYX Mat version lipstick-MLS04 in Pale Pink.  The issue I have with this lipstick shade is its a bit too "drying" for my taste.  I love matte lipsticks because Im not a huge shine and sparkle fan on the lips, but this one is extremely dry looking.  On top of that, yes its a pale pink color but it is super frosty looking, in the sense that it is a bright white pink.  It isn't flattering on me, so I don't really put this one to use ever.

You will notice that when we get into the more pigmented Mats with NYX they get a bit more creamy looking and are not drying at all.  I have noticed this before with the NYX brand, that with the more pigment you get the better the look on the lips and the feel.

3. (Left) is NYX Mat version lipstick-MLS06 Summer Breeze.  This color is very pretty! Some may be a bit questionable whether they want to wear it or not in the day time, because it is a bit brighter than the picture depicts it to be.  But I think its a very sweet, not really in your face color and it could be worn really any time of the year but for sure a Spring and Summer must have color.

4. (Middle) NYX Mat Version lipstick-MLS18 Bloody Mary.  Notice this red carries a bit more cool tones with hints of blues and purples.  It is a very pretty color for a reds to have in your make up drawer.  I love reds for nights out, or bold days with a subtle eye.  This one is a favorite of mine.

5. (right) NYX Mat Version lipstick-MLS10 Perfect Red.  Lastly in this swatch post is the perfect red color.  This is the color I was wearing in the earlier post on Fourth of July.  It is a very vibrant red and pulls more warm tones of oranges and pure red pigments.  This is great on mostly anyone who wants to wear a red lipstick and make a statement.  I personally would wear it with a very muted eye, maybe just a nude eyeshadow and top liner.  It really is the perfect red to have in your make up drawer!

I know this is a longer post, but I really wanted to give you my thoughts on these shades.  I love the NYX lipsticks.  I actually have a whole entire cart waiting for purchase at some point between this "college kid budget" and the "shopping lover" in me. :) NYX really does have good quality product for a price that is very reasonable considered to other brands.  They can run anywhere from 4-6dollars depending on which lipstick line you choose from that they offer (which all of them offer different looks and that is a whole completely different topic post)  But even on Amazon you can find them for cheaper than that! I'd say thats a steal worth spending for!

Happy Fab-Fourth!

 

First off let me say Happy 4th!! I am a huge fan of vintage or "pin up" hairstyles.  One perfect day for me to bust out my vintage side is on the 4th of July.  Because then I get to rock my "Patriotic" red lipstick as well.  This look is quick, I just took a deep side part, basing it off of where my eyebrow ends and I curled everything the opposite direction for more height.  Each curl is pinned up to cool still in the form of being in a "roller set"  You let that sit for about 15 min while it cools then take them all down and there you go instant body and a vintage style!  Add some red lipstick and your ready to go!

 I wish that I would have thought to do a step by step as I did my hair this morning, but here is the finished look! I had work today but this is a great quick and easy look for anyone to do that you can easily go from work to your fireworks filled party! Hope you all have a safe and great night!
